Dr Reuel Khoza – Chairman
Distinguished thought leader, businessman, President of the IoDSA, Africanist, public speaker and change agent at the forefront of transformation in the South African political economy, Dr Reuel Khoza has been hailed as a role model in respect of the duties and responsibilities that a citizen can and should take on in the public and national interest.
Reuel Khoza is currently Chairman of Aka Capital (Pty) Ltd and former Chairman Nedbank Group Limited, and a director of several companies, including Sasol Oil and Nampak Limited. He has chaired the boards of such corporations as Eskom Holdings and GlaxoSmithKlein South Africa, and served as a director of JSE Limited, Old Mutual Plc, IBM South Africa, Liberty Life Group and the Standard Bank Group. He has been involved in the formulation of the King Codes on Corporate Governance in both King II and King III.
Reuel Khoza’s qualifications include a BA Hons in Psychology (University of Limpopo previously University of the North), an MA in Marketing (University of Lancaster, UK), EngD in Business Leadership, WBS Professorship, Warwick University UK and an LLD honoris causa (Rhodes University) and is a Chartered Director (CD SA). He is Emeritus Professor Extraordinaire of the University of Stellenbosch Business School and current Visiting /Adjunct Professor at Rhodes Business School and the University of the Free State Business School; as well as Chancellor of the University of Limpopo.
At the beginning of this year Dr Khoza joined forces with his daughter, Nkateko on a new venture – Dzana Investments, serving as its Chairman with the sole aim of creating a holding company with interests in, property, energy, education, health and ICT sectors.
He is also an author whose books include Attuned Leadership, Let Africa Lead, The African in my Dream and The Power of Governance (with Mohamed Adam).
Nkateko Khoza – CEO
Nkateko is a MBA and BCom graduate with majors in Information Systems, Economics and Accounting. In 1999, Nkateko started her career initially as a graduate trainee at BMW SA where she then progressed to become Business Analyst and Junior Project Manager. She later honed her skills at EDS as Project Manager & Senior Business Analyst on the Nedbank Customer Care Centre Account. She then moved on to work in various systems implementation and CRM projects for Barloworld Information Systems.
In 2006 she joined the Gauteng Shared Services Centre (Gauteng Provincial Contact Centre) in a consulting capacity as the account director focusing on programme management and acquisition activities. Together with a consortium of outsourcing service providers, she was entrusted with growing the contact centre business within the provincial government across all departments.
In April of 2009 she was appointed CEO of the preferred contact centre service provider company to the Gauteng province at the point when the business was being fully outsourced, where she was tasked with providing leadership and re-engineering several functional areas namely ICT, Human Resources, overall Operations, Customer Relationship Management, Stakeholder Management and Programme / Project Management.
This was followed by a 10 month engagement at Ubulungisa Operations, a Special Purpose Vehicle Company conceptualized to provide Financial Management and related Services in respect of Management of Third Party Funds (TPF) to the Department of Justice and Constitutional Development) via Public Private Partnership.
In January 2011, she joined the Deloitte Consulting team as an Associate Director to drive business development and client service within the Business Process Solutions and Outsourcing team- concentrating on expanding the firm’s public sector portfolio and footprint specifically within the SETAs (Sector Education and Training Authorities); Metropolitan Municipalities and deliver significant firm-wide value propositions within the Local Government Public Sector as a whole. She has since left Deloitte (May 2014) and joined a property development and investment joint venture between Flanagan & Gerard and Dzana Property Investments Holdings focusing on investing in and establishing rural retail and mixed use property developments.
